Vitamin A deficiency

November 2, 2015: Drs. Steve Trasino, Xiao-Han Tang, Jose Jessurun, and Lorraine Gudas have shown in mouse models that obesity causes a profound vitamin A deficiency in major organs, including the liver, pancreas, and kidney, but the deficiency is not detected by measuring serum levels of the vitamin. These findings could have major implications for human health.
