*Postdoctoral Associate stipend: $58,500 - $70,466 (per annum commensurate with experience)*
- Dr. Lorraine Gudas- The research in the lab of Dr. Gudas is focused on two main areas, the development of new drugs for treatment of head and neck and kidney cancers, and the testing of new treatments for diabetes and fatty liver disease in mouse models. Competitive salary and benefits. For more information and to apply, please email your CV and the names of the 3 references to Jianjun Xie, jix2007@med.cornell.edu, Lab Manager.
- Dr. Samie Jaffrey- is developing novel RNA aptamer, circular RNA, and RNA therapeutic technologies. We previous developed the concept of fluorogenic aptamers with our Spinach aptamer, and developed novel genetically encoded fluorescent biosensors based on Spinach and other aptamers. We developed the Tornado circular RNA technology for expressing biologically active circular RNA. We have a broad interest in developing innovative new technologies for probing and manipulating cellular functions with RNA. We are also developing new approaches for drugging RNA. A variety of projects are available for highly motivated postdocs. We use directed evolution, molecular biology, CRISPR, imaging, bioinformatic, chemical biology, and synthetic biology approaches. The Jaffrey laboratory is an exceptional environment for training since we have graduate students and postdocs who cover diverse areas of RNA ranging from aptamers and RNA therapeutics to basic molecular biology of RNA and RNA modifications. E-mail applications to: jaffreylab2@gmail.com.
- The laboratory co-directed by Jochen Buck and Lonny R. Levin studies the physiological significance of the evolutionarily conserved bicarbonate sensor, soluble adenylyl cyclase (sAC; ADCY10). sAC is a unique source of the prototypical second messenger cAMP, and our combined laboratory explores the biology of cAMP microdomain signaling, metabolic regulation by cAMP, and the therapeutic potential of sAC modulators. sAC’s most widely accepted role is mediating functions in sperm essential for fertilization, and our current efforts focus on developing sAC inhibitors into novel, non-hormonal contraceptives for women and men. Please email curriculum vitae and the names of 3 references to Ms. Heather Patrick: hfpatr@med.cornell.edu
